Ate here yesterday and was impressed with the quality of the food and service. They have gluten free and vegan options for breakfast and lunch. Delicious gf/dairy free cakes and brownies that were light, fluffy, moist. Never had the like in the USA and I’ve been celiac almost 40 years. We came back today because it’s that good.
Called in the Hub Cafe on the way to catching our ferry back home. The entrance was through a bike shop underneath & then up some stairs to the lovely little cafe.I ordered a hot bun with various items on & my hubby got 6 items for a breakfast. You can mix & match anything. We had a mug & a bone china cup for our pots of tea, all served by friendly waitresses. It’s probably one of the nicest breakfasts we’ve had in ages. Cooked from scratch, hot & tasty, what more could you ask for.We got there in good time as it was full up within half an hour. There’s a loo in the cafe which also has a baby-change area too. Duct tape provided There was ample parking outside and the cafe is about a couple of minutes drive from the ferry terminal. All in all a tip top place which we would definitely stop at again.
Great breakfast in a really dog friendly cafe - Archie said thanks for the sausage
A fabulous find for us (a vegan and a vegetarian)! We have visited 3 times now - each time for the cracking breakfast, but there are good veggie/vegan options on the main menu. As a vegan, finding a vegetarian breakfast menu that was also suitable for vegans was a huge delight - there were soooo many things to chose from - bacon, haggis, black pudding, sausages, tattie scone, hash brown, mushrooms and beans etc (and a vegan spread for the toast). And it was all delicious!! Huge thanks to the Hub Cafe for being so brilliantly inclusive, and for providing such lovely, friendly service. See you next time! Also might be helpful to know that there is parking and a lovely spot to quickly walk your dog before heading inside :-)
Delicious vegan breakfast and oat lattes, friendly staff. Set at edge of castle grounds above bike shop.
Absolutely fantastic, I'm a well travelled man, I can honestly say this was one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. Coffee was also amazing, had 2 well done team!
Great food, with lots of tasty lunch options. Lovely cakes and tray bakes, as well. One of my favourite places in Stornoway for lunch. Always a friendly welcome and nice and cosy with the stove lit. Hot food served till 3pm, drinks and cakes only after that.
We’ve been vegan for over eight years and this was the BEST & BIGGEST full breakfast. And a great space to sit and enjoy, and digest!!!Highly recommended
